Simon

Few restaurants around the area bother to cater to the more typical culinary fetishes - vegetarianism, veganism, raw - let alone try to include a little something for everyone. Simon's has been doing that for years without compromising on the quality of the food it serves, from bouillabaise to tempeh sloppy joes.

For a casual deli/cafe, Simon's is very nearly top-notch. Where else can I get a delicious and *enormous* plate of raw lasagna while my father eats a meat-filled panini on crusty, quality bread? Nowhere in Sarasota, that's for sure. It's always packed -- a good sign for certain! I think I've eaten nearly every vegetarian and fish item on the lunch menu and never been disappointed. Desserts always sounds incredibly tempting, but I'm always too full to eat them.Servers are friendly, though they do disappear for a little too long on occasion. I also wish they varied the raw specials a little more.

He’s complaining that they’ve spelled Caesar wrong (as in “Caeser salad”) and is all but stomping his feet until EC grabs him a carton of organic chocolate milk, a beverage largely reserved, albeit unspokenly, for very small… (read full review)
