We have a new Scenestress!

/ Thursday, December 8, 2011

This silhouette will be getting a makeover next week!

After a rigorous application process, a contentious online popularity contest and sample columns from the final five compeititors that made it difficult for us to pick a favorite, we have finally crowned the new Scenestress. She (or he) knows the local scene, has his (or her) fingers on the pulse of Sarasota’s nightlife and can turn a phrase.

Don’t think, however, that the new Scenestress will be just like outgoing nightlife maven Veronica Pastore. The new model will bring their own perspective on everything from drag shows to foam parties, galas to after-hours parties.

The new Scenestress’ first real column will appear next week in Ticket, but you can read her (or him) before then by going to ticketsarasota.com/scenestress, or following The Scenestress on Facebook or Twitter (@thescenestress). He (or she) will be posting her takes on the best events to attend and the latest interesting places to open, as well as a Scenestress guide to the weekend every Thursday. Have a tip for the new Scenestress? Use Facebook, Twitter or email to thescenestress@gmail.com.

What about the non-winners in the new Scenestress showdown? Hey, we liked all of them and hopefully you’ll see some of them appearing in these pages and on ticketsarasota.com in the near future, to give their unique perspective on the area’s happenings.

In the meantime, here’s a tease to get you back in Scenestress mode – an abridged version of the new Scenestress’ winning entry. We asked all the finalists to go to the newish Rhythm Nightclub and Lounge and give us their take. Read what the new Scenestress had to say.
