Moving Ethos, the Sarasota contemporary dance company which is fast earning a reputation for its innovative and untraditional site-specific offerings, will take to Siesta and Lido beaches over the next month to present free performances of a new work, “Freedom Quest: The Mob Mentality.”

The new work, choreographed by Artistic Directors Courtney Smith and Leah Verier-Dunn, reflects initiatives and events around the globe where people working together have created positive change in their communities.

“We hope to highlight the idea that by coming together as a community and as a society, we can make a greater impact on the world around us,” said Smith.

The company will present three performances of the work, all free and open to the public: Sat., June 11 at Siesta Beach, Sat., June 18 at Lido Beach and again Sat., July 2 at Siesta. Each concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The ocean as backdrop,  a beach at sunset and a dance performance  all in one — hard to beat that.
